Tech companies get $151 million in grants

Steven Chu, secretary of the Department of Energy, announced from Google’s Mountain View headquarters on Monday that the department is awarding $151 million in 37 grants to both academics and green technology companies. The grants are part of the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy project. The projects are considered high-risk, but with the potential of making critical scientific breakthroughs.
