Taxi driver fatally strikes female pedestrian in SF

A taxi driver fatally struck a female pedestrian in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood Saturday night, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a traffic collision at Larkin and Pine streets just before 10:30 p.m., San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The taxi had been traveling west on Pine Street when the pedestrian reportedly ran out into the street and was struck by the vehicle, Esparza said.

The female pedestrian died from her injuries. The taxi driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
