Suspect saves cops a trip after car gets towed

A brazen Bayview shoplifting suspect who allegedly commanded her accomplice to douse a security guard with pepper spray Friday got away with it — for a little while, anyway.

The woman was eventually arrested after police found the getaway vehicle, towed it and passed along a message through her acquaintance that she would need to come to the police station to retrieve it.

When she showed up, she was arrested on suspicion of stealing alcohol from the Smart & Final grocery store on Bayshore Boulevard.
