State senator joins national summit on distracted driving

State Sen. Joe Simitian, who is responsible for California’s hands-free cell phone law, was one of about 200 participants at a summit on distracted driving in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. The summit was called to identify ways to reduce traffic collisions and fatalities caused by distracted drivers. “I think continued enforcement and education will be key to enforcement of the law,” the Palo Alto Democrat said.
