Simitian extends contest deadline

Joe Simitian, the state senator from Palo Alto, announced that he is extending the deadline for his ninth annual “There Oughta Be A Law” contest, which invites Californians to submit ideas for new state legislation. The new deadline is Sunday, Nov. 15. The winner or winners will have their ideas introduced as legislation and have the opportunity to testify at a hearing on their bill in the state Capitol.
