Shooting near Alice Griffith housing project seriously injures woman

A 31-year-old woman was seriously injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Bayview-Hunters Point, according to police.

The woman was found lying on Fitzgerald Avenue between Hawes and Griffith streets near the Alice Griffith housing project at around 3:37 p.m., police said.

The woman was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound considered life-threatening.

Police have not identified a suspect in the shooting.

Police did not provide further information.
