For the 55,000 students in San Francisco Unified School District, Friday is the last day they will have to wake up early for nearly two weeks while the district goes on winter break.
The District and administration will be on winter break from Monday, Dec. 20, through Friday, Dec. 31.
This is the first year district officials aligned the fall and spring semester to coincide with the break. School started two weeks earlier to accommodate final exams in the middle schools and high schools.
Classes will resume Jan. 3 with the beginning of the spring semester.
