SFPD investigating string of weekend shootings

Police are investigating a string of shootings that occurred over the weekend in San Francisco, two of which involved teens. All of the victims who were shot or injured sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old boy was caught in the crossfire of an alleged shootout in Ingleside early Tuesday morning. The shooting occured around 1 a.m. on Mission Street between 24th Street and Ocean Avenue.

Another teenager was involved in a shooting Monday at 2:20 p.m. in the Bayview when an altercation between the teen and a 26-year-old man led to the teen pulling out a gun. The man involved and a 77-year-old woman who was driving by in her car were shot. The suspect then fled on foot.

Two shootings occured in the Mission on Sunday along with a report of gunshots fired. The first shooting took place just after 1 a.m. on the corner of 22nd Street and Mission Street. After police heard gunshots and saw a car fleeing the area, they found a woman who had been shot. The 22-year-old victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police received a call just before 8 p.m. that shots were fired around 25th Street and Shotwell Street, but no victims were involved.

Less than two hours later, another shooting occurred just a few blocks away off of 22nd Street and Shotwell Street around 9:45 p.m., which also involved the suspect fleeing from the scene in their vehicle. The victim heard a gunshot and realized later that he had been shot.
