An elderly man was injured on Monday when a driver intentionally backed into him in Potrero Hill, according to police.
The 73-year-old man was rushed to the hospital but is expected to survive after the driver struck him near 17th and Carolina streets at around 1:43 p.m., according to the San Francisco Police Department. Police said officers witnessed the incident.
The driver, a 38-year-old man, fled the scene in the vehicle. He is suspected of assault with a deadly weapon. Police have not made an arrest in the case.
