The eyes in the sky at the San Francisco International Airport will soon have some better vision.
The airport’s surveillance camera system is set to receive $5 million from the federal government to strengthen security at the hub, according to an announcement by SFO officials.
The funding, provided by the Transportation Security Administration, will buy more cameras, improve video recording equipment, and expand upon the closed circuit television system at the airport.
“We are extremely appreciative of the additional funding TSA have provided the San Francisco International Airport,” said airport director John Martin. “SFO’s number one priority has been, and always will be, the safety and security of everyone traveling through and working at the San Francisco International Airport.”
