Salvaged steel sculpture coming to Hayes Valley

A 28-foot-tall figurative sculpture made from salvaged steel will sit tall in the Hayes Valley Patricia’s Green for six months next year.

The Hayes Valley Art Coalition requested the installation of “Ecstasy,’’ the fourth of its kind in The City. It has also made appearances at Burning Man.

The sculpture’s footprint is 12 by 12 feet. It will touch base at Octavia and Hayes streets starting January and will remain until June.

Recreation and Park commissioners approved the project last week.
