S.F. woman runs over, kills 4-year-old in Las Vegas

A San Francisco woman fatally struck a 4-year-old child, when she accidentally ran over the girl near Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Brynda Kirk, 24, was parked in her 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe on Tuesday night, when a child knelt in front of the vehicle out of her view, said Jay Rivera of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. When Kirk pulled out of the space, she ran over the girl, Rivera said.

Authorities deemed the fatal incident an accident, and did not find any indication of drugs or alcohol in Kirk’s system, or any negligence on her part, Rivera said.
