S.F. suffers homicide No. 37 of ’08

A 21-year-old man was found dead inside a car in the Mission district Wednesday night, another victim of deadly gun violence in San Francisco.

The engine was still running in a dark-colored Lexus when police officers arrived at 26th and Harrison streets about 9:30 p.m. Martel Peters was seated inside the car, dying from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. He was pronounced dead as paramedics took him to San Francisco General Hospital.

No arrests were made in the homicide, and investigators are calling on witnesses to come forward. The killing is the 37th homicide recorded in 2008.
