Central

Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill

Pac-Man gobbled: Two males in their 20s entered the Musee Mecanique on Pier 45 at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 and boldly attempted to steal a full-size Ms. Pac-Man arcade game. They backed their truck into the parking lot and were seen carrying the machine from the arcade.

Two officers chased the thieves onto Bay Street, where they were arrested while attempting to escape through a retail store.

Park

Cole Valley, Haight, Castro, Twin Peaks, Panhandle

Bad trip: Two bike patrol officers in the area of Alvord Lake observed a man urinating in the bushes several feet away from a mother and her two young children at 5:53 p.m. Aug. 17.

The officers issued him a citation and a record check revealed that he had an outstanding warrant. Upon searching him, they also located five psilocybin mushrooms, the possession of which is a felony narcotics violation.

Southern

South of Market, China Basin, Embarcadero

Strangler subdued: A man confronted an employee as she left a social club on the 1-100 block of Sixth Street at 10 p.m. Aug. 18.

He slipped acord around the woman’s neck. Another employee intervened before the attacker could tighten the cord and strangle the woman.

The man threatened to kill both employees and their families, but was arrested on two felony charges.

Mission

Mission district, Noe Valley

Robbery with assault: An employee of Philz Coffee at 24th and Folsom streets observed a suspect attempting to force a victim to withdraw money from the ATM at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13.

Police were called and the suspect was apprehended. He subsequently battered an officer, causing him to require a week of sick leave, by kicking him full-force in the chest while being put in the patrol car.
