Central
Financial District, Nob Hill, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill
Three against one:</strong> Plainclothes officers in a prostitution operation at 2:13 a.m. July 9 stopped at a red light in an unmarked car at Geary and Larkin streets when they saw a man curled up on the sidewalk, being punched and kicked by three people who tore at his clothes and wallet until the officers interceded. A witness had observed the man waiting for a cab when the three set upon him.
The female suspect had no address and was found to be on active felony probation. One of the male suspects also was on active parole. All three were booked for robbery and possession of stolen property.
Richmond
Richmond, most of Golden Gate Park
Window shopping: At 6:43 a.m. July 6, officers were sent to the area of 18th Avenue and Lake Street on a report of a man looking through car windows. The officers located the suspect, determined that he was on probation and had an outstandingwarrant for grand theft. The suspect was taken into custody.
Ingleside
Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood
Assault: At 12:30 a.m. July 9 on the first block of Surrey Street, officers investigated an assault that occurred in a car in the Union Street and North Beach neighborhoods. The perpetrator, a 40-year-old Texas man, was detained by officers from Central Station. The suspect was arrested and booked on three felony charges.
Tenderloin
Tenderloin, bordered by Geary, Market and Larkin streets
Spit it out: On July 6 at Turk and Taylor streets, officers responded to a call regarding narcotics dealing. Officers saw a man who matched the description and detained him. The man had two rocklike objects in his mouth. The officers asked the man to spit out the rocks, and he was arrested on suspicion of possession of crack cocaine.
Bayview
Bayview, Hunters Point
Time to go: At 12:40 p.m. July 11, officers responded to Cashmere Street regarding shots fired. A woman said she was at an apartment on Harbor Road retrieving her clothing when a suspect, whom the woman knows, told her to leave the area. The suspect then produced a sawed-off shotgun and discharged two rounds at the victim. The victim was not injured. Officers later found and arrested the suspect.
