Rev. Cecil Williams to celebrate 45 years of service with Maya Angelou, Rita Moreno

The reverend will celebrate his 45th year with Glide Memorial Church at a gala tonight. Williams will be joined by luminaries such as Maya Angelou and Rita Moreno. The event at the War Memorial Opera House will also serve as a benefit for Glide’s programs and food kitchen. Glide is located in the Tenderloin neighborhood and has more than 11,000 members, according to the organization.
