Rescuers search San Francisco waters for person, only to find clothing

Rescue crews looking for a person in distress in the water near San Francisco's Ocean Beach Monday morning ended up on a wild goose chase.

A Coast Guard crew and San Francisco firefighters responded to a spot near Lincoln Way and Great Highway shortly after 10 a.m. but found only a floating article of orange clothing in the water, according to the Coast Guard.

Firefighters and Coast Guard officials determined there was no one in distress.
