Renowned Chez Panisse chef to recieve USF award

The renowned chef and locally grown food advocate, Alice Waters, will be honored Nov. 5 at the University of San Francisco. Waters will receive the university’s California Prize for Service and the Common Good, which comes with a $10,000 award. Waters champions local cuisine through her Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley and founded the Chez Panisse Foundation, which uses food to empower young people.
