Police still seeking missing urn with victim's mother's ashes stolen in Potrero Hill burglary

Police are still investigating the case of the missing urn that was taken in February during a burglary in Potrero Hill, Officer Albie Esparza said in a statement Thursday.

On Feb. 25, between the hours of 10:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., a home in the 1700 block of 20th Street was burglarized and many items were stolen, including a tear drope shaped urn that contained the victim's mother's ashes, Esparza said.

The urn is red in color and the victim remains devastated over the loss of her mother's ashes, Esparza said. Police have released a picture of a similar urn.

Anyone with information on the missing urn is encouraged to call police at (415) 575-4444 or text at TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
