Police reveal identity of Walnut Creek murder victim

A Pittsburg man found dead in a car in Walnut Creek Monday morning was identified today as 30-year-old Eric Martin, according to the Walnut Creek Police Department.

Martin's body was found slumped over in the driver's seat of a black Acura sedan by police officers just before 5 a.m. at Central Road and Crokaerts Street. Martin had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives are following several leads but do not believe this was a random act, said police.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call Detective Sgt. Bryan Hill at (925) 943-5894.
