Police responding to fatal Caltrain accident

Officials have confirmed that one person died after being struck by a Caltrain train in San Mateo today.

According to Caltrain spokesman Jonah Weinberg, train 241 was traveling northbound when it struck a person at the 9th Avenue crossing at 11:40 a.m.

Caltrain previously reported that the train was headed south.

Transit police and San Mateo police are responding to the incident.
