Police nab suspect in Sunset shooting

A 40-year-old Daly City man has been arrested in connection with a Wednesday evening shooting in the Sunset District, a San Francisco police spokesman said today.

Rodney Sassenberg has been charged with attempted murder and other related gun charges, police Sgt. Neville Gittens said. Sassenberg and the victim reportedly know each other.

The shooting was reported at 5:48 p.m. in the area of 47th Avenue and Vincente Street, according to police.

The victim, suffering a gunshot would to his chest, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and his condition is unknown, Gittens said.

Investigators are searching for the weapon used in the shooting, according to police.
