Police investigating Hunters Point shooting early Tuesday morning

A bullet-ridden gold Monte Carlo parked at San Francisco General Hospital became a crime scene Tuesday morning after an apparent shooting victim showed up in the car seeking treatment.

The shooting occurred at Kirkwood Avenue and Atoll Circle in Hunters Point about 10:20 a.m., crime scene investigator Lt. Brian Devlin told The San Francisco Examiner. At the scene, broken glass and shell casings could be scene. Two nearby cars were also struck by gunfire.

It is believed that the victim was taken to the hospital in the Monte Carlo.

The victim was reportedly not in life-threatening condition.

Police detained two people in the parking lot, a man and woman. It was not revealed why they were detained.

The man was handcuffed and sitting on the curb near the car, while the woman was taken from the hospital, handcuffed and put into a police car.

SFPD's gang task force was at the scene as part of the investigation.
