Police have tracked down a tattooed man suspected of rape and robbery with the help of anonymous tipster.
Damir Shalako was taken into custody Friday about 1 p.m. by Mission Station officers in Rolph Park at 26th and Hampshire streets.
Shalako was wanted in the connection with a “brutal sexual assault and robbery” in the Potrero Hill Housing Authority Development on Sept. 28, according to police. A picture of his tattooed visage was blasted out to the media after the crime.
Apparently, police were tipped off by a citizen who called the Department’s anonymous tip line at 575-4444. Kudos to a citizen for caring.
