Pedestrian seriously injured in Bayview District collision

A person suffered life-threatening injuries when a vehicle struck him early Thursday morning in the Bayview District of San Francisco.

The collision was reported at about 1:20 a.m. at Jerrold Avenue and Rankin Street.

Police said the victim was transported to the hospital. His identity was not released.

The victim was struck mid-block while he was crossing the street, according to police. The driver stayed at the scene.
