Parks chief: Coffee cart a no-go

Permission for Blue Bottle Coffee, a vendor known for its long lines and slow-drip, to operate a cart in Dolores Park has been revoked.

Parks Chief Phil Ginsburg said today he is rescinding the Recreation and Park Commission’s decision to allow the cart in the park after several local business owners and surrounding residents contended.

He said Rec and Park will hold a public meeting later in the month to discuss it further with people who didn’t feel they heard about it in time to give their two cents.

He also acknowledged that not everyone will agree, but “there will be more conversations about it.’’
