Newsom serves up volleyball tournament

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom helped kick off the AVP Crocs Cup Shootout, a professional volleyball tournament, Sunday at Piers 30-32. The tournament brought top athletes to Northern California, including 2008 gold medalists Kerri Walsh, Misty May-Treanor, Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers. Walsh is a Palo Alto native and Stanford graduate. May-Treanor and Walsh won the women’s shootout.
