Newsom roots home team on

As a lifelong Giants fan, Mayor Gavin Newsom joined fans citywide who were basking after the San Francisco Giants clinched the National League Division West Championship.

“I couldn’t be prouder of our hometown team and their accomplishment today,” Newsom said.  “As the postseason starts, the entire city will be rooting for the orange and black. Congratulations to every player on the roster and to the entire Giants management and staff. San Francisco stands with you as you embark on your quest for the 2010 World Championship.

“Go Giants!”
