Newsom mulling over candidates for new environment director

Mayor Gavin Newsom was given names of candidates recommended by the Environment Commission to assume role as the director of the Department of the Environment.

The Examiner has been keeping readers up to date on the selection process for a new director of the Department of Environment.

“The decision is now in the mayor’s office,” David Assmann, Department of Environment’s acting director, told the Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee on Wednesday. “The commission has recommended candidates to the mayor’s office and it is now up to the mayor to interview and make a selection. So we are waiting.”
