Newsmaker: Healthy Sunday

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's plan to shut down the Embarcadero on two Sundays this summer in the hopes of encouraging people to exercise more will be discussed in a meeting hosted by the local think tank, San Francisco Planning and Urban Research, on Thursday.

The plan has met resistance in the Board of Supervisors due to the closures’ impacts on surrounding businesses.
