The incumbent, a former supervisor, won the unopposed primary election for the state’s 12th Assembly District, which includes western and southern San Francisco and northern San Mateo County. The freshman representative, who serves as majority whip of the Assembly, will campaign in November’s general election against Republican Conchita Applegate, who also won unopposed in Tuesday’s race.
