A Muni construction inspector was hit by a truck in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood Wednesday morning.
The inspector was working in the area of Van Ness Avenue and Chestnut Street around 8 a.m. when he was struck, according to Muni spokesman Paul Rose.
Police said the inspector was expected to survive his injuries. Rose said the man was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
The truck involved in the collision was not a Muni vehicle but it remains unclear if it was connected to construction in the area. City agencies are constructing a Bus Rapid Transit System on Van Ness Avenue and overhauling sewer, water and other utility infrastructure through the area.
Rose said the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
“We’re working with the police department to investigation exactly what happened,” Rose said.
