Muni collision sends 1 to hospital

One person was hospitalized Wednesday after a collision between a Muni light-rail vehicle and a car near AT&T Park, a Muni spokesman said.

The collision was reported at 10:28 a.m. at Third and King streets, spokesman Paul Rose said.

A car turned left in front of an N-Judah train and was hit by the light-rail vehicle, Rose said.

Two people inside the car initially said they were injured, but only one was taken to a hospital, according to Rose. That person’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, he added.

No one on the Muni train was hurt, Rose said.

Muni vehicles on the N-Judah and T-Third Street lines were switching back at The Embarcadero and Harrison Street while authorities investigated the crash, Rose said.
