Muni bus hits, injures woman

A Muni bus struck and injured a female pedestrian in the Bayview district Friday night, according to the Police Department.

A 44-O’Shaughnessy bus hit the pedestrian at Hudson Avenue and Ingalls Street at about 8:30 p.m., police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

The 44-O’Shaughnessy bus line, which travels between the Richmond district and Hunters Point via Golden Gate Park, was rerouted for about an hour, according to Muni officials.

The bus driver involved in the crash has been placed on nondriving status and will be drug and alcohol tested per standard procedure, Muni spokesman Judson True said.
