A mountain lion was spotted this morning in the Highlands neighborhood of unincorporated San Mateo County, emergency officials said
today.
The animal was seen at about 9:05 a.m. behind a home at 116 CSM Drive and appeared to be heading toward the Crystal Springs area.
Residents are advised to not approach mountain lions, and to try to appear large and make noise if one is nearby. The cats are most active at dawn, dusk and night.
