Motorcycle rider shoots man outside SF federal building

San Francisco police say a person on a motorcycle shot and injured a man across from the Phillip Burton Federal Building on Sunday night before fleeing the scene.

The shooting was reported just after 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Golden Gate Avenue.

The suspect pulled up alongside the 36-year-old victim and they had a brief conversation, according to police.

The suspect then allegedly shot the victim in the buttocks with a handgun before fleeing.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

No suspect description was available Monday morning, but the suspect was riding a black Kawasaki motorcycle, police said.
