More hair means more money

Family and staff members at Peabody Elementary School in the Richmond neighborhood are growing their facial hair for a good cause: classroom supplies.

According to the San Francisco Unified School District, 11 of the school’s family and staff agreed to grow mustaches through Dec. 16 to raise money for the school.

Known as “Mustaches for Kids,” the fundraiser lets men grow out their facial hair while donations are collected for the ‘stache. Donations are collected at DonorsChoose.org through Dec. 16.

The money raised will help purchase items requested by teachers.
