Midday police chase ends on Embarcadero with 3 armed robbery suspects in custody

San Francisco police detained three people Wednesday afternoon in connection with an armed robbery after a vehicle pursuit that ended near the Embarcadero.

Officers first spotted a silver Infiniti at 1:29 p.m. that was “known to have a firearm abord,” according to Officer Grace Gatpandan.

When the driver did not pull over, police began chasing the car through San Francisco.

The pursuit continued on to U.S. Highway 101 and exited at the Embarcadero, before ending at the intersection of Delancey and Brannan streets.

The suspects ran out of the car and attempted to get away on foot after the car stopped, according to police.

Police officers took three suspects into custody. Gatpandan could not immediately confirm when the initial robbery and assault with a deadly weapon occurred.

A one block perimeter surrounding the scene was barricaded until 3:30 p.m. for surveillance and to collect evidence.
