It was a bloody way to tell someone, “Mind your own business.”
A 53-year-old man was cut behind his ear after intervening in an argument between two people, police said. The incident occurred near Seventh and Market streets Thursday around 9 p.m., cops said.
The suspect, described as a 57-year-old black man, told the interloper to stay out of it, and then grabbed him by the neck, police said. The victim snagged a cane from a bystander for self-defense, prompting the suspect to run away. It was then that the victim felt the blood trickling down his neck, police said.
He did not see a weapon, police said.
A knife was found at the scene. It was not known if the knife had been used in the attack.
The suspect remains at large, cops said.
