Mechanical problem causing Caltrain delay

Northbound commuters are experiencing Caltrain delays Thursday morning after a mechanical problem forced the cancellation of one train, a spokeswoman said.

Northbound train No. 313 apparently had a dead battery and was taken out service, Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew said, causing two other northbound trains to run behind schedule.

Train No. 215 was running around 15 minutes late as of 9:15 a.m. and train No. 319 was around 12 minutes behind.

The delays were not expected to last beyond Thursday morning’s commute.
