Man, woman shot by BB gun-toting thug

A BB gun-toting thug shot a man in the cheek and a woman in the collarbone during an attempted robbery in the Mission district Wednesday night, police said.

The thug, described as a man in his 40s, demanded loot from a 59-year-old man as he exited his car in the area of 24th and Valencia streets at 11:25 p.m.

A struggle ensued before the thug shot the man in the cheek with a semiautomatic BB gun. A 52-year-old woman was shot in the collarbone, police said.

The robber fled empty handed.

The victims were treated at San Francisco General Hospital for injuries that were not life threatening, police said.

There has been no arrest.
