Man stabbed to death in the Sunset

A man was stabbed to death in the Sunset early Friday, Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

Police responded to the 1600 block of 45th Avenue about 4:05 a.m. on calls of a man lying on the sidewalk in a pool of blood, Gatpandan said. The 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was reportedly stabbed numerous times, Gatpandan said.

There was little additional information Friday morning, as there were no witnesses to the incident, Gatpandan said.

The death marks The City's 15th homicide of the year.
