Man stabbed in the chest in Mission district

A 38-year-old man was stabbed in the chest early Monday in the Mission district and hospitalized in life-threatening condition, police said.

The man was stabbed somewhere along Mission Street around 2:30 a.m., police said. He then went home and his roommate called police from 16th and Mission streets.

The wounded man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

The suspect is an unidentified man. No detailed description of him has been released.
