Man shot to death outside Lower Pac Heights nightclub

A 36-year-old Modesto man was shot to death outside a nightclub in Lower Pacific Heights early Sunday morning, police Sgt. Danielle Newman said.

The victim was shot and killed in the 1800 block of Post Street about 1:45 a.m. out in front of a nightclub that had just let its patrons out, Newman said. He was identified by the Medical Examiner's Office as David Gilford III.

Homicide investigators canvassed the area but there was no suspect information or motive known Sunday morning.
