Man shot in leg in Potrero Hill

A man was shot in the leg in Potrero Hill early Tuesday morning, cops said.

The 37-year-old victim was on the sidewalk in front of a residence in the 1800 block of 25th Street near Wisconsin around 2:45 a.m. when the assailant appeared suddenly, fired at the victim and fled on foot, San Francisco police Sgt. Michael Adraychak said.

The victim was struck by a bullet in his left thigh and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment, cops said. His injuries were not life threatening, Andraychak said.

Police do not have a description of the suspect as of Tuesday afternoon, Andraychak said. Police are investigating the incident.
