A man was shot in the leg in the Mid-Market area Friday night, police Officer Albie Esparza said Monday.
The 22-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of Market Street about 9:45 p.m., police said, when an unknown suspect approached and confronted the victim, Esparza said. The suspect then pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg before fleeing the scene.
The victim drove himself to the hospital for his injuries, which were not life threatening.
The suspect was described by police as being about 5-foot-9, 180 pounds, wearing a brown puffy jacket, blue jeans and a black and white mask with a skull on it, Esparza said. According to police, the victim did not know the suspect.
