Man shot in Bayview after drug deal ‘went bad’

A 43-year-old man is recovering after he was shot late Monday night in the Bayview District in what police described as a drug deal that “went bad.”

The man was in the 400 block of Jamestown Avenue apparently engaging in a drug deal when at about 11:30 p.m. the incident took a turn for the worse and a suspect shot the man, police said.

The suspect, for whom there was no description available, then ran away. The victim was taken to a hospital where he is expected to survive.
