Man robbed at gunpoint in Sunset district

A young man was walking down a Sunset district street late Monday afternoon when a car intercepted his path and an armed man got out, robbing him.

The victim, 19, was on Noriega Street near 28th Avenue when the thief pulled up in a white Chrysler, hopped out and asked “what’s going on?” police said. The man then searched the victim’s pockets and took his wallet and car keys.

When the victim tried to get his wallet back, the thief pulled out a handgun and pressed it against his body. The armed man then drove away south on 28th Avenue, police said. Also stolen was cash and credit cards. The victim was not injured during the robbery.
