Man riding bike in the Mission shot in the foot

A man was shot in the foot early this morning in the Mission district, police said.

The 43-year-old victim was riding his bicycle in the area of Cesar Chavez and Hampshire streets about 12:05 a.m. when an unknown gunman shot at him, police said.

He was struck in the foot, police said. The man was hospitalized, but the injury was not life threatening.

There was very little suspect description available Monday morning.
