Man pretending to be blind steals woman’s backpack in Hayes Valley

A man pretending to be blind robbed a 45-year-old woman Friday in Hayes Valley, according to police.

The 1 p.m. incident near the intersection of Oak and Octavia streets happened when a man in his mid to late 30s followed the victim, pretending to be blind. He then grabbed her backpack and ran.

No arrest was made.
